Only a little while ago, it was reported that Chelsea and Sevilla were closing in on an agreement for the transfer of Jules Kounde. It had been suggested that the Blaugrana are yet to submit a written offer for the Frenchman, but had asked him to refuse all offers that come for him.
Now, though, a fresh update from Gerard Romero claims that there has been fresh development in talks between Barcelona and Sevilla for the Frenchman.
The update claims that Barcelona director Mateu Alemany has now agreed on a price for Kounde with his Sevilla counterpart Monchi. With a fee now agreed, it is now up to the 23-year-old to decide whether he chooses Barça or the Blues.
Romero himself has previously claimed that Kounde has his heart set on a move to Barcelona. The Spanish journalist first reported that the French international had already agreed a contract with the Blaugrana ahead of the transfer.
Romero also divulged details over the alleged contract, stating that it was a four-year deal which included a lot of variable clauses, including one concerning the defender's recent hamstring injury problems.
With contrasting reports continuing to emerge on the situation, it remains to be seen where Kounde ends up once he leaves Sevilla, which is all but a given.
Chelsea and Barcelona duelled against each other for the signing of Raphinha earlier this summer, with the Catalans prevailing in the pursuit. It will be certainly interesting to see if lightning strikes twice.

Premier league is tough but the weak Laliga teams have the most UCL titles. How do you explain that?
