In a show of appreciation, Cristiano Ronaldo congratulated former Real Madrid teammate, Luka Modric, for winning FIFA's 'The Best' award.

He also had kind words to say to Liverpool's Mo Salah, who won the Puskas Award.
"Congratulations to Luka Modric for winning the trophy," he said on Instagram.
"Salah merited winning the Puskas Award, it was a beautiful goal that he scored."
Being cross-questioned by his followers for the best goal of the season, the Portuguese laughed.
"Let's be honest, don't kid yourself, my goal was the best," he added.
Ronaldo didn't attend the gala held last Monday in London and this Friday spoke for the first time about the awards.
"The prizes are prizes, I already have several..." he noted.
"I play to win and not to win prizes, I've been at the highest level for 15 years and I'm proud of what I've achieved."

How possible could that be for Salah to win the Puskas' Award over Ronaldo when his (Ronaldo's) goal was very stunning and in fact shocked the entire football world? The award which Salah has won belonged to Ronaldo in entirety, but since FIFA has given a blind eye on the Ronaldo's crucial strike, we leave it as it is because she, FIFA, is the highest decision making body of football. To conclude, Ronaldo is a very mature footballer, and he has all it takes to be merit. He diligently praised both Salah and Modric for their awards, and that's the beauty of sportsmanship.
