Cristiano Ronaldo has arrived at Manchester United training just hours after storming down the tunnel before the full-time whistle in his side's 2-0 win against Tottenham on Wednesday.
Ronaldo refused to give much away to reporters as he drove into Carrington for the first time after his actions the previous evening.
The Portuguese forward was somewhat surprisingly left out of the Erik ten Hag's team for the game at Old Trafford after starting United's previous two matches, as the Red Devils went with a front three of Antony, Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford.
Ten Hag's selection paid off as United picked up a comprehensive victory through goals from Fred and Bruno Fernandes.
However, Ronaldo was in no mood to celebrate the victory, and when it became apparent that he was going to be an unused substitute, he left the bench and walked up the tunnel as the game moved into stoppage time.
Following the match, ten Hag was asked about Ronaldo's behaviour and vowed to deal with the matter on Thursday.
'I have seen him, but I didn’t speak to him. I will deal with that tomorrow, not today. We are celebrating this victory,' he told reporters.
‘I don’t pay attention today. I will deal with it tomorrow. I want to keep the focus on the team and a magnificent performance from all 11 players and the subs who came on. It was a squad performance.’
This is not the first time that Ronaldo's actions have been called into question this season.
The 37-year-old left Old Trafford early during a pre-season friendly against Rayo Vallecano in July after being substituted at half time.
He also failed to hide his frustration when he was substituted in the second half of United's goalless draw with Newcastle on Sunday.
Ten Hag insisted afterwards that he did not have a problem with Ronaldo's angry reaction to coming off in that game.
'No player is happy when he comes off, especially not Ronaldo, I understand that. As long as it's in a quiet normal way, no problem with that,' he said.
'Of course he is convinced he should stay on and should score a goal, that is why he's that good.'
Ronaldo has started just two league games this term after telling the club he wanted to leave in the summer, and his frustration appears to be growing at his lack of first-team opportunities in recent months.
He comfortably finished as United's top scorer last season with 24 goals in all competitions, but has been largely overlooked this time around.
It remains to be seen as to what punishment, if any, ten Hag will hand down, especially with such a quick turnaround in between games, as United are back in action away at Chelsea on Saturday.
Ronaldo was left out of the starting line-up in the corresponding fixture last season when Michael Carrick took interim charge of the team following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's sacking, and he could miss out again due to his actions on Wednesday and United's impressive performance without him against Spurs.

Ronaldo did the right thing to push his contract termination..ten hag don’t just respect Ronaldo and that’s not the bothering part but why should u lie to the board and the world that he is part of ur plan when he isn’t….he knows Ronaldo is important to United than him and that’s why he can’t openly say Ronaldo isn’t part of his plan but Ronaldo is making it obvious to the world that if u can’t tell them I’ll tell them my self 👏🤝 FOREVER GOATED🐐👑💕

It is not whether Ten Hag respects Ronaldo, does Ronaldo respect Ten Hag and the Team. Manutd built the team around CR7 over a decade ago, this is 2022, and he shouldn't expect to be the focal point of a team undergoing a rebuild. He said he wanted to leave without even meeting the coach or kicking a ball in training. How do you expect to be the regular striker when you want to leave anyway. Ronaldo should be professional and not be a distraction. The coach and the team are doing well. Arrangements should be put in place for Ronaldo to leave in January. He is a narcissist!

let's call a spade a spade,Ronaldo and his agent were seriously searching for a new club when we were at preseason tour. he Ronaldo firstly disrespect Man United if you are talking about disrespect issues here. Please let's respect the coaches decisions,Ronaldo is not bigger than Man United so he should respect the club and we the fans as well, what he did yesterday is unacceptable and as the legend of this honorable club he needs to set good reputation for the young ones to follow.

discipline is everywhere. knowing football doesn't mean that u have to be undisciplined. where is balotelli? coach is the boss. the reason why United is struggling is bse Ferguson had full control over all players but after his regime, now the players are the ones in control over coaches. ETH wants to bring back the full authority to coaches not players. let him prove ETH that he can start the games by performing not making silly news headlines. we need to transform man utd to the old utd and we can't do that without full authority to coaches like man city they did to guadiola

Are u trying to blame ten Hag for Ronaldo actions?? You are dumb if that’s the case.. whatever ten Hag said about wanting Cristiano to stay on and play is not of his own will, ten Hag was order to say these things by the board to cover up a lot of drama cuz clearly Ronaldo is not a player ten Hag fancy in project…
