In a UEFA Nations League group stage match against Norway, Portugal captain Ronaldo was not included in the starting lineup and remained unused on the bench despite all five substitutions being made.
The last time Ronaldo was an unused substitute for Portugal was on June 9, 2024, when the team lost 1–2 to Croatia in a friendly match ahead of Euro 2024.
This marks only the fourth occasion in Ronaldo's entire international career that he has been an unused substitute.
