Cristiano Ronaldo has told his Manchester United teammates to "keep working" after the superstar was warned to 'keep his mouth shut.'
The 36-year-old posted on social media following Trevor Sinclair 's claim that he is "causing a lot of problems" at Old Trafford.
Ronaldo will certainly not have envisaged the Red Devils being out of the Premier League title race by January when he triumphantly re-signed for United last August.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner is reportedly ready to quit the club if interim manager Ralf Rangnick is appointed on a permanent basis and Sinclair has blasted his efforts this season.
The ex- Manchester City forward believes his former club "dodged a bullet" by not signing Ronaldo, having been linked with him before he made his homecoming on the other side of the city.

Ronaldo has responded after Sinclair blasted his efforts for Man Utd
"I'm starting to think that Manchester City dodged a bullet by not signing Cristiano, I really think that," Sinclair said on talkSPORT.
"You look at some of the players that are struggling for form at Manchester United, young players, [Jadon] Sancho, [Marcus] Rashford, they're really struggling for good performances.
"Course you can [blame Ronaldo for that]. Know your role, know your role. You're a footballer, you're hired by the football club.
"Keep your mouth shut because at times that's the best thing to do. He's causing a lot of problems at the football club.
"Not just his lack of goals in recent times, but the fact that Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer] 's gone and Michael went in and dropped him for a game."
Sinclair has also theorised why Ronaldo chose the Red Devils over City, with United facing a major battle to finish in the Champions League qualification places while Pep Guardiola 's men challenge for yet another title.
"I just feel it's been one of those signings where it looked good, but it's far from good," the player-turned-pundit went on.
Have your say! How should Man Utd line up vs Aston Villa? Pick your team below.
"For me, one of the reasons I think he may not have considered Manchester City, and it's certainly not winning trophies because he would have won a lot of silverware there.
"I think it's because he didn't want to be second fiddle to Pep. Whereas he could go into Manchester United, he could almost feel like he could bully Ole.
"And I think he just want to do what he wants for him and it's not the best for the club."

All these players at United in the Last 4 years have been comfortable winning nothing and managing to finish second last season due to the Struggle of Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and co. "Ole Out, Ole Out, Ole out" became a chorus with fans in the last couple of seasons but, we still never saw any of these players "angered" at the fact that the team was obviously not doing well enough, and that's coz Ole always pampered them. Nobody told them them the truth HEAD ON! Zero pressure to give more, succeed,,and take things to the next level... Now we get Ronaldo, Not like we needed to sign him as we already had Cavani, but still he's been the only one showing that mentality to Win something. Unlike the others, he's clearly frustrated when we ain't doing well, and he'll be 37 next month. If only the young lads in the last couple of years have had just as much desire, we would've won something by now. But they'd rather applaud the UNHAPPY fans after a popr game, and fault someone else for their lack of desire. Smh, it's just sad.

Do you kids really hear yourself sometimes? With all the winning mentality you claim he the only one showing, we are still outta Europa ligue position. The ones you idiots claim don't have the winning mentality are the same ones that won Europa League, FA CUP, and finished 2nd for two years! Sometimes you guys should just shut the fuvk up when professionals are talking!

You just said it all….it baffles me to still see some senseless fans saying that Ronaldo ain’t doing nothing, he’s highest goal scorer, he never asked the useless Rashford not to score, he never asked the lazy martial not to work hard, but ppl open their mouths to say that Ronaldo is the problem of our team, our players don’t like working hard, all of them are lazy, but Ronaldo came and changed that mentality, but ex players are saying rubbish against Ronaldo so he can quit United and United will sink more, bcus no one is scoring apart from him alone, but anyways, the day Ronaldo goes, we will know what juventus are passing through since after selling him…ungrateful humans everywhere.
