The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) published the ranking of the 10 best players in the world in 2023 on December 26th, and Haaland was named the best player.

The Saudi League can't even be counted on the list. Also, CR didn't do anything special there. It's only this season, with Al Naser signing many players, he was fed the ball for goals and Tapins along with penalties. Meanwhile, Messi played many matches for PSG in 2023, won the Legue, and was the best rated player in Ligue 1. Also, his MLS journey was terrific. Unlike CR, Messi went to the worst team in MLS and won them their 1st trophy along with Tournament MVP. Ronaldo is yet to win an MVP with Al Naser, one of the best clubs in that league. So CR's achievement is just not worthy of mentioning.

For your information if you don't know, Messi left Europe in May 2023 finishing with best assists, chance creation and dribbles in five major European leagues. He is the best foreign player in League 1 and of course, he won the league title. Forget about MLS, this is his achievement in Europe. Also, in 2023, he statpaded but still no MVP to date. He's not even the best rated Saudi player. In Europe, 2023, Messi was among the best Legui 1 Player. Messi became the highest-rated player in Ligue 1 and the top 5 in Europe. Messi won the Legui 1 along with Copa De France and the MVP of the same. Messi's achievements were on different levels compared to the statpader who scored against construction workers, which was too full of Tapins and penalties. There isn't any award for statpadding.
