SPORT: Lewandowski could guarantee scoring, but poor pressing is the problem

According to the latest report from Sport, Barcelona will decide Lewandowski's future after the election. This season, his participation in matches is not as good as before.

It is reported that Lewandowski may be in his last year at Barcelona. The decision on his future will not be made immediately; instead, it will be finalized after the election in mid-March and the composition of the new board of directors.

In the match against Albacete, he started but had almost no chance to touch the ball. His presence in the game has decreased, which his influence outside the penalty area has weakened.

Nevertheless, Lewandowski's scoring contribution is undeniable. Previously, he was also excellent in providing a focal point for the team: linking up attacks, and improving overall efficiency.

This season, his playing time has decreased significantly (1414 minutes, compared to Ferran Torres' 1725 minutes). Obviously, this is also related to him turning 38 soon.

The player himself has also entered another stage of his career. In the past, he might have asked for an explanation and felt dissatisfied due to irregular playing time, but now he behaves more calmly and has a more "zen" attitude.

His goal-scoring instinct remains sharp (scoring a goal every 93 minutes in the league, and every 118 minutes in all competitions), which is indispensable to Flick and the team.

However, he really struggles to maintain the high-intensity pressing required by Flick. Therefore, Ferran gets more playing time because, in addition to scoring goals, Ferran currently provides greater defensive contributions and can better create space in the frontcourt.

His match data against Alavés reflects his decreased participation in the game: only one shot, a pass success rate of 2/6, 14 touches, and 6 lost possessions.
