SPORT: Pessimism in the Barca dressing room over Neymar's future

Javier Mascherano and Gerard Piqué’s sombre tone and serious faces were not unexpected and reflect the current status of the ‘Neymar case’ that takes a new turn every day. Barça’s squad fears a bad outcome to the saga son.

Sources in the squad asked by SPORT admit that “they have done everything and more” to keep Neymar and all the heavyweights in the squad have talked to the Brazilian to try to convince him to stay. As a result, the squad though Neymar would take the next step and state his commitment on social media, but this has not happened.

Neymar has not been hiding, he has talked with everyone who asked to talk to him. He has told them that he has a very serious offer from PSG and is thinking it over calmly. However, the same sources admit that “Neymar is talking to everyone but is not given any sign about what his final decision might be.”

For this reason, the Barça squad is becoming more and more pessimistic with every day that passes, as they interpret his silence as a bad sign. Nevertheless, they the situation is resolved soon to avoid more uncertainty.
