Manchester United's on-loan midfielder Marcel Sabitzer has said that his situation 'needs to be evaluated' in the summer amidst uncertainty over the Austrian international's future at either Old Trafford or with Bayern Munich.
The 29-year-old is on a straight loan deal to United without an obligation to buy clause in his contract.
Sabitzer has made 12 appearances for United across all competitions, including in eight of the nine Premier League matches since his arrival in England.
There has yet been no agreement between United and Bayern to extend the box-to-box midfielder's stay in Manchester beyond the end of this season.
'United made it clear that it was a project until the summer,' Sabitzer recently told BILD. 'Then we'll see. Until then, I want to give everything here.
'It's a loan deal without an option. In the summer, the situation will be evaluated.
'But I can say that I found my place here. Now I know the Premier League and can say there's nothing better, more intense and tougher.
'Every game is a fight. It's the best league in the world. When you play once here you know it's incomparable.
'Of course my thoughts are on United, especially with the trust I get from Erik ten Hag - it's very positive. But I'm not the only one who decides.'
Sabitzer joined United at the beginning of February after struggling to cement a position in the starting line-up at Bayern under Julian Nagelsmann.
Thomas Tuchel was brought in to replace the 35-year-old after he was sacked at the end of March, but there has not yet been any contact between Sabitzer and the new manager.
Sabitzer's current deal at the Allianz Arena runs until the summer of 2025 after agreeing to a four-year deal when he joined the Bavarians from RB Leipzig in 2021.
Since then, he has faced stern competition for places in the Bayern midfield, but Sabitzer claims that has also been the case while playing for Manchester United.
'There's competition at every top club,' he said. 'At United, it's even more extreme than in Munich. Here there's McTominay, Eriksen, Casemiro, Fred and me.
'If I was afraid of competition, I wouldn't have joined either Bayern or United.
'I haven't had contact with him (Thomas Tuchel) yet, but I have a high opinion of him as a coach. He's extremely meticulous and thinks all day about his game plan and training content. In addition he plays attractive football. He's a top coach.'
