Arsenal paid tribute to missing Cardiff City striker Emiliano Sala by including his name on the matchday programme on Tuesday alongside a daffodil as the two sides meet in north London.

Sala disappeared last week on a flight back from Nantes and after an extensive search local police made the decision to call off the search on Thursday.

While he does not have a squad number with the Bluebirds, Arsenal featured his name on the back of the programme next to a daffodil, the national flower of Wales which also has significance to Sala's former club Nantes.

The match at the Emirates Stadium will be the first time they have played since Sala's disappearance last Monday evening.

Cardiff boss Neil Warnock admitted on Monday he considered quitting football after Sala's tragic disappearance and on and off the pitch a number of tributes have been planned.

Arsenal fans will be offered daffodil badges from their Cardiff counterparts in the build-up to kick-off while a moment of silence will be had before the match kicks off.

Clubs from around the country, who were left stunned by the news of Sala's disappearance, wore black armbands to show their respect.

Sala's family have been invited to both Tuesday night's match against Arsenal and also the weekend clash against Bournemouth.
