Salah breaks another Liverpool record and things you miss from Anfield rout

Liverpool returned to the top of the Premier League with a thumping 5-0 victory over relegated Huddersfield on Friday evening.

Naby Keita opened the scoring after 15 seconds with Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah both going on to bag braces.

Sportsmail took a look at some of things you may have missed from a busy evening at Anfield.

Gallagher unimpressed

Few could be impressed by anything the Premier League's bottom club showed on Friday but one man was particularly scathing in his assessment of their performance.

Former Oasis star Liam Gallagher, a die-hard City fan, took to Twitter to share his exasperation at Huddersfield's lackluster display, simply writing: 'is it any f****** wonder'.

It's no surprise the rocker was unhappy, his club falling back down to second in the tablefollowing Liverpool's victory.

A confused fan

Liverpool opened the scoring in a matter of seconds at Anfield and it seems the incredibly early nature of the goal got the better of one fan in the Huddersfield end.

Naby Keita capitalised on a turnover in possession to break the deadlock and viewers noticed something rather bizarre about one reaction among the Terriers supporters.

As Keita and Co celebrated, a woman could be seen clapping away among the group of forlorn fans before realising that was entirely what she should not be doing.

Our guess is she was a neutral who couldn't contain her excitement or perhaps a Red who blew her cover.

A rare Henry appearance

Liverpool's principal owner John W Henry made his return to Anfield for the Premier League encounter.

The American, joined by wife Linda Pizzuti, looked in good spirits as he made a rare foray to Merseyside for the business end of the title race.

He stepped out onto the pitch to wave to the home supporters before taking his seat in the directors' box for the game.

Tommy tribute

Friday's match also gave the home fans a chance to pay tribute to former captain, Tommy Smith MBE, whose funeral took place on Thursday.

A minute's silence was held for defender Smith, who passed away at the age of 74 earlier this month after a long battle with dementia, while his face was also featured on the front of the match-day programme.

He was known as the 'Anfield Iron' during his playing days at Liverpool and was a key part of the team that accumulated significant silverware during the sixties and seventies.

Smith was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in October 2014, and battled bravely with the illness until his death. He scored a crucial goal for Liverpool in the European Cup final in 1977 as his boyhood club won the trophy for the first time.

Salah's yoga obsession

Mohamed Salah's two-goal display gave the Liverpool another chance to perform another yoga inspired celebration.

The Egyptian did a Vriksasana (tree pose) after scoring his side's second goal in the 2-0 victory over Chelsea earlier this month.

And he was at it again on Friday, shaping himself iconic lotus (cross-legged) position after finding the net.

Robertson record

Reds full-back Andy Robertson was responsible for setting up two of his side's goals and that saw him equal a league record.

The left-back was the creator of both Mane's first and Salah's second, taking him to 11 assists for the season.

That sees him go level with Leighton Baines and Andy Hinchcliffe for the most assists by a defender in a Premier League campaign.

And another for Salah

There was also another landmark moment for Salah, who added another goalscoring record to his collection.

The Egyptian's second goal was his 69th for the club in just 100 matches.

No player has scored more in that many games for the club, Salah eclipsing the record that was held jointly by Sam Raybould and Roger Hunt.
