Liverpool have confirmed that Mohamed Salah is expected to feature for the club again before the end of the season, after suffering a minor muscle injury.
Salah, who announced earlier this year that he will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season, was replaced by Jeremie Frimpong just before the hour mark of their 3-1 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday.
He had stretched awkwardly to reach the ball and left the pitch to a standing ovation at Anfield, with some fears that could have been his final game for the club.
Salah has made 440 appearances in all competitions, scoring 257 goals, while winning nine major honours across his nine seasons on Merseyside.
But according to Liverpool, Salah's swansong has not come to an end just yet. Though they did not specify how long he would be sidelined, he is expected to be able to pull on the shirt once more.
"The issue that caused his withdrawal has now been confirmed as a minor muscle injury," Liverpool said in a statement.
"It is, however, anticipated Salah will return to action ahead of 2025-26's conclusion and his departure from the Reds this summer."
Liverpool still have to face Manchester United, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Brentford in the Premier League this season as they continue to chase Champions League qualification.
It appears the trip to Old Trafford could come too soon for Salah, who would be a big miss against Liverpool's old rivals.
He has scored more goals against United both overall (13) and away from home (seven) than any other player in the competition's history.
