Sarri frustrated as Lazio defeated by Roma in tense derby

Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri admitted frustration after their derby defeat today to AS Roma.

Lorenzo Pellegrini struck a first-half winner for Roma as they won 1-0, with Lazio having Reda Belahyane and Matteo Guendouzi sent off.

Sarri said: "We didn't allow any shots on goal, we had plenty of chances. Then, after those chances, we floundered for ten minutes.

"In the second half, we squandered clear chances: we're left with a disappointment; we lost by giving our opponents little. Carelessness is our limit; today we could have been dangerous, but we lost because of these incidents. Like against Sassuolo on the corner, today when we couldn't get out on the left... and two red cards too. That's the limit; it could be a problem."

Asked about a fans backlash, Sarri also said: "I don't know.

"We only have one midfielder available on Sunday. Losing a derby hurts, because you watch the others celebrate and you feel like you've let your fans down. I hope it hurts the players too."
