Former Manchester United star Paul Scholes believes the Reds are in need of a new striker and a central midfielder.
“Yeah, I think that's been important for a while,” Scholes told BBC 5Live when asked if the Reds needed to strengthen.
“They have some talented midfield players in there now. I think (Scott) McTominay has done really well this season.
“And Pogba we all know on his day can be sensational and probably one of the best in the world in that position, but we just need to see it more often, we need to make sure he wants to stay at the club to get that out of him.
“But I think Ole will be looking, he'll be trying. I'd be more worried about the center-forward position, I know we spoke about Mason Greenwood coming through.
“We have Marcus and Martial – are they center-forwards or are they wingers? We're not quite sure.
“I always think United, going back to when they were challenging for titles, they had four brilliant center-forwards and I think that's something that's missing at this minute in time.”

Like i l always say, Rashford, James & Martial all need someone to compete with them in their respective position so that they are pushed to bring out the8r best game or learn from their competition. How do you think Rashford will play if he starts having fatigue? Rashford is good from the left, so him & James should dig it out on that position. We should get Haaland or Dembele from leageu1 to compete with Marshals. On the right wing, lets get Sancho to compete with Greenwood. We need a mid field for sure, so maybe Maddison or Bruno would add some competition in the middle of the park and lastly, we definitwly need a proficient left back to compete with shaw. With the above 9le will have a lot of option and he can easily read the games to know who to use at a particular period or even before the game just like SAF did in his days.

Ole is not helping the team enough. Martial , James, Rashford, James, have no competitor which is not good for the team. there should been a striker pushing Martial and Rashford , you know when there is another fearful striker striker sitting on the bench, you that will playing will always give in your best. Rashford missed too many chances against Astana and when you look at the bench, there is no one else there who can come in to help him. There is no competition in the attack. So if Martial or Rashford don't play well or out of form, they will always start because there is no one else there. James also needs someone to keep him on his fit

Well as a big club you have to know that a first eleven is not enough, they(Man United) have to think that there are also good options on the bench. I say this because I can see how our bitter rivals Man City and Liverpool are copping with a squad strong enough to win big titles as you seen a Champions league title and two consecutive EPL titles go to England in different directions. The secret is Ole must think like a manager of a big club, one of the biggest in the world. As far as I have seen since Sir Alex Ferguson not many have been successful for more than 2 years. There should be competition between players striving to work hard, take a step forward each day, after every game; improving. But for Ole to think about the starting 11 only is just for small clubs, because as a big club, we must exert pressure 90min all the time and you can't do that with a starting 11 only, you will have to have reinforcements on the bench and good ones as well. At Least having two players per position is the best thing and making sure that they are as good as the starters. About the players, United shouldn't play 4-2-3-1 anymore because there is an imbalance between midfield and forward position. And Ole pleaassseeee give Andreas Pereira and Fred a chance of playing their designated position of central midfield and suspend Lingard for a while until he learns to be a quality midfielder.
