Frank Lampard does not believe that Sergio Ramos deliberately injured Mohamed Salah in the Champions League final.
Salah left the field in tears with a suspected dislocated shoulder after tangling with Ramos, who linked arms with the Liverpool star before landing on top of him.
Many Liverpool fans directed their fury towards Ramos but BT Sport pundit Lampard leapt to the Real Madrid man's defence.
Asked at half time whether it was fair to attribute any blame to Ramos, Lampard said: 'No, I don't think so.
'He's got close, like any defender should do and sometimes when you get that contact you do interlink arms and it's more unfortunate in the end, the way he fell.'
Ramos was pictured smiling and laughing with one of the referee's assistants as Salah walked off but Rio Ferdinand was convinced the two incidents were unrelated.
The former Manchester United centre back said: 'I wouldn't associate the two things.
'I think it was really good defending from Ramos and I don't think he meant to do that (hurt Salah).'

Exactly my point...Ramos is a defender and you don't expect him to allow Sallah leave with the ball easily without a contest, Sallah himself was the one that first held Ramos and the the twingling continued until Salah fell wrongly. Let's remove sentiments , everybody would want Ramos in his team, he's a fighter and a defender of the universal like Voltron...sorry Sallah but big shout out to Ramos. Hala Madrid.
