Seriously? The Sun: Eto'o bans Aboubakar from AFCON to save his goal record

According to The Sun, Cameroon Football Federation President Eto'o has been exposed for intervening in the selection of the national team roster, sparking controversy over the omission of veteran striker Aboubakar.

Samuel Eto'o currently holds the Cameroon national team record with 56 goals in 118 matches, while Aboubakar, closely trailing, has scored 45 goals in 116 matches. It is reported that Eto'o has been accused of ordering the omission of Aboubakar to prevent his goal record from being broken.

After recently winning re-election, Eto'o sacked the head coach of the Cameroon national team last week and appointed David Pagou as interim head coach. The new roster not only excludes Aboubakar but also lacks Manchester United goalkeeper Onana, who was previously thought to have a strained relationship with Eto'o.

However, the chaos is far from over. Despite being sacked by the football association, Bris has insisted that he remains the head coach and submitted to the sports ministry that appointed him a list for the Africa Cup of Nations featuring Aboubakar and Onana, which directly conflicts with the version announced by the football association.

Cameroon is currently effectively in a "dual-head coach" situation, and this power rift has threatened their Africa Cup of Nations campaign, after domestic unrest had previously caused the team to miss out on qualification for next year's World Cup. Before the final squad deadline on December 11, government officials and football association representatives are urgently holding meetings to try to find a solution for the national team.
