Tottenham hope Ryan Sessegnon will be in contention to make his long-awaited debut by the start of next month.

Sessegnon has yet to make his Spurs bow following his £25million transfer from Fulham on deadline day, due to a hamstring injury.

The 19-year-old has trained with the rest of Mauricio Pochettino's squad this week and now been pencilled in for Under 23 duty.

Spurs's second string face Leicester on Friday, which could be deemed too soon, before games against Wolves on Saturday October 26 and then Arsenal on November 1.

Sessegnon has been earmarked to feature twice for the Under 23s to build up his fitness ahead of a first appearance for Mauricio Pochettino's side.

Meanwhile, Juan Foyth is in line to fill Spurs's problem right back position against Watford on Saturday.

Foyth has yet to play for Spurs this campaign after suffering an ankle injury in pre-season.

He returned to the squad for their 3-0 defeat at Brighton before the international break as an unused sub before starting both of Argentina's games, against Germany and Ecuador, at right back.

Foyth's injury was untimely, coming just after the right back position opened up following Kieran Trippier's departure for Atletico Madrid and Pochettino has been forced to chop and change to fill the position so far this season.

He has used four different players at right back, Serge Aurier, Kyle Walker-Peters, Davinson Sanchez and Moussa Sissoko, with the latter two both playing out of their natural positions to fill in.

Foyth joined Spurs from Estudiantes in 2017 as a centre back but Pochettino began deploying him as a right-sided full back last season.
