Sevilla's official social media account posted a sarcastic message regarding the incident where Arda Güler elbowed opponent, subsequently scored a goal, but the referee and VAR took no action against the Real Madrid player.
The match was marked by a major refereeing controversy involving Arda Güler. In the 24th minute, Güler elbowed Sevilla defender Peck Fernández, raising questions about whether the Real Madrid player should have been sent off with a red card. Five minutes later, Güler scored the opening goal for Real Madrid.
The incident began during a Real Madrid counter-attack when Peck Fernández pulled Güler's shirt. Güler retaliated with an elbow, bringing his opponent to the ground. The referee consulted VAR to determine whether a red card should be issued.
After nearly three minutes of review, the referee declined to issue Güler a red card or even a yellow card, and play resumed. The decision drew criticism and frustrated Sevilla.
The only yellow cards shown during the stoppage were issued to Real Madrid defender Huijsen and Sevilla player Félix Correia for an altercation between the two.
