Manchester City defender Kean Bryan has joined Sheffield United after a deal to join Rangers fell through earlier this week amid claims he had failed a medical.

Bryan, 21, was Oldham's young player of the year last season after his loan spell there and has joined on a free transfer. However, City have retained a sell-on clause as part of the deal.

Bryan, who joined City's academy in 2008, previously had a loan spell at Bury and played for England youth teams from Under 16 up to Under 20 from 2012 to 2017

Sheffield United are braced for further offers from Brighton for centre back Jack O'Connell but maintain he is not for sale.

Bryan is the fourth addition to Chris Wilder's squad after defender John Egan signed from Brentford for £4million, striker David McGoldrick joined on a free transfer from Ipswich and goalkeeper Dean Henderson on loan from Manchester United.

The Blades take on Swansea in their season opener on Saturday night.
