According to English media reports, Rashford's performance since returning to Man United has fallen short of expectations, but Sheringham believes there is no need to panic yet.
A year ago, it seemed almost impossible that Rashford would still be playing for Man United in the 2026/27 season. However, his desired move to Barcelona did not materialize, and he ultimately returned to Old Trafford.
Since his return, Rashford has not scored or assisted a goal for Man United, and the Red Devils have won only one of their first five Premier League matches.
This has drawn some criticism toward Rashford, but former Man United player Teddy Sheringham said that the forward's performance is not the problem.
In an interview, Sheringham stated: "Marcus Rashford has been a bit unlucky this season. He is indeed putting in the effort. He is not Man United's problem at the moment. From what I've seen, his attitude is right, and it should always be."
Despite acknowledging Rashford's focused attitude, Sheringham does not believe he should be praised for it.
Sheringham said: "He's a professional. We shouldn't be sitting here praising him for having a good attitude. A professional player having the right attitude shouldn't be an issue in the first place."
Rashford's weakest performance since returning to Man United came in the team's 1-1 draw against Fulham.
He did not feature during the recent international break and withdrew from the England squad, along with club teammate Mainoo.
Man United will look to bounce back as they host Tottenham. Rashford has scored six career goals against Spurs.
The most recent came in 2024, when the two teams drew 2-2. This time, a point will not be enough for Man United, as the team is eager to return to winning ways.

Haven't we played well before when he was involved? This is someone who have ever scored 30, 25, 23, 21, 19, 17 goals with more than ten assists each as a winger for this club in separate seasons. Just because of one bad game then you bunch of clowns forgot about every good thing Radford has done for this club. It's not fair! Radford have never one day wanted to leave Manchester United in the first place, but Amorin was the reason behind every problem that has to do with Rashford and Manchester United as of recent.
