Sky: Al Nassr waiting for Ronaldo strike decision

According to Sky Sports, Al Nassr are waiting for confirmation that Cristiano Ronaldo will end his strike and start playing again.

Ronaldo, who will be 41 tomorrow, has stopped playing because he feels Al Nassr’s title rivals Al Hilal are being given preferential treatment by Saudi authorities.

His behaviour is creating unwanted headlines for the Saudi Pro League, the Kingdom’s sovereign wealth fund and the Ministry of Sport.

He missed the game against Al Riyadh on Monday and it is not guaranteed that he will play against Al Ittihad on Friday.

Jorge Jesus, the Al Nassr manager who used to manage Al Hilal, also shares Ronaldo’s concerns and he did not speak to the media after Monday’s game.

Al Hilal spent big again this season, bringing in players such as Karim Benzema and Darwin Nunez.

Saudi clubs have opened up to private investment and Al Hilal’s signing of Benzema from Al Ittihad was financed by billionaire Prince Alwaleed bin Talal.

Since Ronaldo arrived in Saudi, Al Hilal have spent €647m on transfers whereas Al Nassr have spent €410m.
