Liverpool have been given a free run at signing Wolfsburg striker Mohamed Amoura after Eintracht Frankfurt deemed him too expensive.
Amoura, 24, is currently on loan from Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise but will become a Wolfsburg player permanently on a four-year deal from July 1. The Algerian marksman has scored nine goals and provided eight assists in the Bundesliga so far season, attracting interest from across Europe.
One unlikely destination, though, is Frankfurt, as Sky Germany report that Eintracht chiefs have been put off by Amoura price's tag. Offers are expected to come in between €30million and €40m (£25m and £33m) with concrete interest from the Premier League.
Liverpool are among the clubs linked with Amoura. Last month it was reported that the Reds had already been in contact with the player's camp about a move, having witnessed his electric pace and eye for goal when he scored against them in December 2023. The Algeria international can also play as a winger but it's as a striker in a two-man front line where he's excelled.
Arne Slot could be in the market for a new No.9 amid suggestions that Darwin Nunez will leave in the summer transfer window. Nunez, 25, was linked with a move to Saudi Arabia in January, with Al-Nassr claimed to have seen two bids rejected.
Liverpool weren't willing to sell their club-record signing without having a replacement through the door, although Amoura might just be that. The 24-year-old has also been linked with Arsenal and Bayer Leverkusen but Liverpool are said to have been interested since his time at Union SG.
The Reds chose not to make any January signings, keeping their powder dry for the summer. Slot recently confirmed that the wheels are already turning ahead of the transfer window.
"We are looking at every single position and we are looking at the team," the Liverpool boss stated last month. "We said this many times last summer, we didn't do a lot because we – Richard [Hughes, Liverpool's sporting director], me and all the other people involved – just wanted to know how these players were working with me, the different manager.
"Now we have a very good idea about that, and I think it's clear to you that I'm not going to tell you which positions we prefer, but it is clear that we've assessed the squad, we've assessed what we think where we can improve, and that's where we try to go for in the summer."

Liverpool should go for osimhen . His talent is simply being wasted at galatasaray on loan while his parent club has no intention to using him . He could be deadly in the pl with his speed dribbling and finishing . A perfect example of a goal poacher providing his physical attributes as well .
