Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to be rewarded for Manchester United's progress with a bumper new three-year, £10million-a-season contract - regardless of whether they win a trophy in the coming months.
United are in the quarter-finals of the Europa League and are the bookies' favourites to lift the trophy after their impressive victory over AC Milan in the last round.
But the Mirror report that Solskjaer's future is not dependent on trophies, with the manager set to be offered a huge new contract irrespective of how the season ends.
It has been claimed that Solskjaer's £7.5m-a-year deal will be upped to £10m, with the Norwegian putting pen to paper on a three-year deal.
Ed Woodward, United's executive vice-chairman, is said to be 'convinced' United are heading in the right direction under Solskjaer, with the team currently second in the Premier League.
The team are much higher than many expected them to be this season, helped in part by Liverpool's stuttering title defence, and only city rivals Manchester City are above them in the table.
They have an eight-point cushion to fifth-placed West Ham and United are happy with the progress they have seen under Solskjaer in his two years in charge.
It has been reported that the deal he will be offered is to be two years, plus the option of a third, taking the total contract to £30m.
Currently, the 48-year-old's deal is set to end at the conclusion of next season, but United are keen to avoid any speculation that could hamper results on the pitch.
Therefore, his new deal is expected to be signed and sealed in the off-season, before he heads into the final year of his old contract.

They must give him a life contract so that Manchester United will lose some fans to other clubs. It has too many supporters. They will be playing this old nanny football 🥅 and a lot will pack up and go. I ditched Manchester United which I had supported because I was born in a Manchester supporting family because of Mourinho and I am happy I left before this heartache called Ole came in. Fans deserve to enjoy footbal, not winning drab games by some own goals , penalties, luck etc. Fans don’t own Manchester United, they have no shares there . There is no financial benefit. So what’s the use of suffering watching a team struggle and play boring football? Manchester United has a very good and large team but some players like Bailey, Mata, Pogba, James, Brandon Williams etc rot on the bench because Ole is not a good Manager. He has poor Human Resources skills. He got Cardiff relegated if he was coaching West Ham he would have been fired in less than 6 months because that team has less skilful players and a smaller team

1.We are the next Arsenal, like Arsenal under Wenger. 2.Board are just happy with the top4 and having a manager who would not complain even if he was not given money is perfect for their role. 3.The only difference is we don't play attractive football like Wenger did. 4. The longer he stays the more toxic it will get, even if u don't want to sack Ole u would still agree we should not offer him a new contract and should wait. 5.Even if he wins UEL and finish 2nd it would not mean much.2nd place finish and 3 trophies was not good enough for Jose to keep his job,his unattractive football and unwillingless to think long term was his downfall. 6.Ole talks about long term plan and may love club but he doesn't have a long term philosophy and just grinds out result, why would any young player would want to join us seeing how badly we treated DVB,Bailly,Tuanzebe. Let's be honest we were going to finish midtable last season without Bruno and Pogba and we are not much of a team,we play like a bunch of 11 players with no cohesion,we just grind out result.

ManU fans are here shouting Ole this - Ole that ... but what they don’t know is that Ole is a club Legend made by Sir Alex Ferguson. Tell me a world class coach better than Ole at this point? Ole needs the right players to deliver trophies 🏆. History tells us that Sir Alex Ferguson was appointed ManU head coach in November 1986, he won his first silverware in 1990 four years after his appointment and was almost fired in January 1990 before the silverware that gave the birth to who we know as the greatest coach in British history. So please allow Ole to toe the path of his mentor and in 2028 he will win his first silverware and possibly start the reign of dominance like Sir Alex did. I so submit!
