He has a point. Managers’ comments do affect referees’ decision making. Whether we didn’t get those penalties because of Klopp’s comments is irrelevant. Ole’s trying to get the referees to give us penalties the next time there’s a debatable challenge. Not getting penalties isn’t an excuse for underperforming, but that doesn’t mean that the manager shouldn’t complain when referees make obvious mistakes that could cost his team points.
