Ayoze Perez and Jamie Vardy both hit hat-tricks as Leicester thrashed Southampton 9-0 to move up to second place in the Premier League.
Match Reports
Ayoze Perez and Jamie Vardy hit hat-tricks as Leicester City stormed to a record-equalling 9-0 Premier League win over a beleaguered 10-man Southampton at St Mary's.
Perez, a close-season signing from Newcastle United, was fouled in the build-up to Ben Chilwell's 10th-minute opener – an incident that saw Ryan Bertrand sent off after a VAR review.
Ralph Hasenhuttl's home side failed comprehensively to deal with their numerical disadvantage as the goals rained in amid a torrential downpour on England's south coast – Youri Tielemans scoring number two before Perez's first Leicester goal set him on the way to a share of the matchball.
The goals flooded in, and James Maddison's superb free-kick made it 8-0 – which at the time matched the biggest margin of away victory in Premier League history.

Match Events
10' GOAL! Southampton 0-1 Leicester (Chilwell)
LEICESTER LEAD! The referee plays an advantage after Perez is fouled and Leicester use it well. Chilwell originally plays a quick pass into Barnes, whose first-time shot from the middle of the box is well saved by Gunn. He pushes it into Chilwell's path though and he scores from a tight angle. 1-0 Leicester!
12' Red Card! Bertrand sent off
BERTRAND'S OFF! The VAR ruling is in and Southampton are down to 10 men early in the game. It was a poor challenge from the defender and he can't complain about that.
The tackle that Bertrand made on Perez is a red card. He'd lost control of the ball and when he tried to win it from the Leicester midfielder, he caught him high on his legs with his studs.
17' GOAL! Southampton 0-2 Leicester (Tielemans)
AND IT'S TWO! Leicester work it really well down the left side and Chilwell crosses it into the box. Valery gets something on it but can only knock the ball into Tielemans' path and he takes a touch before firing his shot low and under Gunn. 2-0 Leicester!
19' GOAL! Southampton 0-3 Leicester (Ayoze Perez)
PEREZ MAKES IT THREE! Leicester catch Southampton out with some quick passing again and Perez plays a one-two with Tielemans to get into the box. He hits the shot first time when he gets it back and Gunn can't stop it from crossing the line. 3-0!
39' GOAL! Southampton 0-4 Leicester (Ayoze Perez)
BRILLIANT GOAL! It's a great cross into the box from Chilwell and Perez comes around the back of the Southampton defenders to fire his effort into the top left corner from a tight angle in the six-yard box. 4-0 Leicester!
45' GOAL! Southampton 0-5 Leicester (Vardy)
IT'S FIVE! Southampton just can't seem to get close enough to Leicester and it's another good finish. A deflection takes Chilwell's cross looping into the box and Vardy turns away from his defender before driving his shot past Gunn and into the roof of the net. 5-0!
57' GOAL! Southampton 0-6 Leicester (Ayoze Perez)
HAT-TRICK FOR PEREZ! He times his run perfectly to stay onside and get on the end of Barnes' chip. He chests it down and fires it past Gunn to get his third goal of the game. 6-0 Leicester!
58' GOAL! Southampton 0-7 Leicester (Vardy)
THAT'S SEVEN! It's too easy for Leicester now as Chilwell just brushes past Bednarek to put in a cross. Vardy is left unmarked in the middle of the six-yard box and he heads his effort into the back of the net. 7-0!
85' GOAL! Southampton 0-8 Leicester (Maddison)
MADDISON MAKES IT EIGHT! Leicester have a free-kick just outside the box and Maddison steps up to take it. It's a brilliant strike as he curls his effort over the wall and into the top corner. 8-0!
85' GOAL! Southampton 0-9 Leicester (Vardy)
HAT-TRICK FOR VARDY! It's the final kick of the game and Vardy has scored Leicester's ninth goal of the game. He curls his effort into the right side of the net and Gunn gets fingertips to it, but it's not enough to stop the goal. 9-0!

This has been coming to Southampton for a few years now.... they were never ashamed to sell their better players: Van Dyk, Mane, Llalana, Wanyama, Walcott, etc etc I haven't seen a club with a board with less ambition for decades
Bro, please do some self analysis before u talk about the board. Any small team will sell its good players because 1. they don't have enough financial strength to offer these players bumper and bigger wages and salaries 2. their good players dream is to play in bigger clubs, being in the small teams is just to find a foundation to stand firm, play regularly so as to play in the bigger teams later. 3. these players can't win trophies in these small teams 4. these players can't win individual accolades in these small teams. Would Van Dijk have won the PFA and UEFA best awards as a Southampton player? Would Mane win the UEFA 2nd best forward as a Southampton player? Will Lalana win the Champions league in Southampton? And about the loss, they didn't lose because they sold better players Have u forgotten Leicester sold Mahrez, Kante, Maguire, Drinkwater and the rest? So, the board has no blame

That game should be investigated Leicester City edited all their players.. Vardy became Lewandoski and Ayoze became Luis Suares.. In Legend mode. I support rematch with players dressing up on field.
