Spain assistant manager Robert Moreno praised the leadership of captain Sergio Ramos, after another goal scoring display from the veteran defender.
The Real Madrid defender netted his third goal in his last four international appearances, moving onto 165 caps, two behind record holder Iker Casillas.
Goals from Ramos, Alvaro Morata and Mikel Oyarzabal sealed a 3-0 UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying win for La Roja against Sweden, and Moreno hailed the impact of the 33-year old.
"Sweden were a difficult opponent and they made it hard for us.
"He is the key leader in this team, and you saw that tonight.
"He is a real example to the young players, and it is a pleasure to have him involved with the national team."
Moreno, who is standing in for the absent Luis Enrique, also confirmed that a decision is yet to be made on who will be Spain's permanent first choice goal keeper.
Chelsea's Kepa Arrizabalaga started against Sweden, and in the weekend win over the Faroe Islands, with Manchester United's David De Gea on the bench.
"Kepa is in great form and he had the ended the season well, and that form has kept him in the team
"Competition for places is good, as it stops prevents you from thinking you are too good.
"But, as yet, no decision has been made and the competition is strong."
