Julian Alvarez sparked fresh speculation about his future after Atlético de Madrid’s 5-2 victory against Tottenham. The Argentine striker, who scored twice and was named man of the match, surprised observers when he refused to guarantee that he would remain at the club next season.
When asked about his future, Alvarez simply replied that he did not know if he would still be there, adding that in football anything can happen.
The forward later tried to calm the situation by insisting that he feels happy at Atlético and has never spoken negatively about the club. Signed in 2024 for around €95 million and under contract until 2030, Alvarez remains an important figure in Diego Simeone’s squad, particularly in the Champions League where he has already recorded 7 goals and 3 assists this season.
However, reported interest from clubs such as Barcelona, several Premier League sides and Paris Saint-Germain suggests that a major transfer saga could emerge in the coming months.
