After Spain's opening FIFA World Cup match ended in a 0-0 draw against Cape Verde, Rafael Lozano, president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, called on fans to remain patient and confident. In an interview with EFE, he said the group stage had only just begun, that the team still had time to adjust, and that great things were yet to come.

Regarding the failure to win the opening match, Lozano believes there is no need for excessive concern. He said: "I understand the mentality of Spanish fans very well, and it is always good to remain cautious. Many people previously considered Spain a FIFA World Cup favorite and thought we were favored against Cape Verde. But first, we must congratulate Cape Verde; they played to their strengths and indeed created a lot of difficulties for Spain."

In his opinion, the opening draw does not mean the team has lost its competitiveness; the Spanish side still has enough room to gradually find its form.

Lozano stated: "This is only the first match. We still need to gradually find our rhythm and build our form through playing. Playing our opening match in such a magnificent stadium was also a special experience for us. I hope everyone stays positive; it is not a big deal, as we only drew one match. There are still two group-stage matches ahead, and we will definitely go all out for victory."

We have a truly outstanding national team, and no one should doubt that. The head coach clearly understands our goals and how far this team can go. We need to keep moving forward and deliver results, but I believe we can do it. I hope everyone continues to support the team; great things are yet to come."
