Sport: Barcelona youngster Shane Kluivert will join first team preparations

According to Mundo Deportivo, Shane Kluivert has received a call-up notice for the Barcelona first team's preseason preparations.

Barcelona's 2026-27 preseason preparations will begin on July 13. As in previous seasons, Flick will call up youth players to participate in training camps at Barcelona's Ciutat Esportiva and England's St. George's Park. The latest name to emerge is forward Shane Kluivert. According to The Telegraph, he has been notified that he will be called up. More players will be called up this year, as the German coach needs to consider the impact of the World Cup and players' subsequent holidays. The son of the former Barcelona legend recently extended his contract with the club until 2028.

In defense, players such as Álvaro Cortés are attracting a lot of attention. He has already had playing time with the first team and is one of the most promising players to train under Flick this summer. Espart and Jofre Torrents will also be among them, as they are among the most promising names. In midfield and attack, Guille Fernández, Toni Fernández, Juan Hernández, and Tommy Macks are also considered largely confirmed to participate, although the club has not yet made an official announcement.

For months, these players have been considered candidates to complete part of the summer preparations with the first team.
