Spurs 0-1 Liverpool: Firmino winner extends Reds' lead to insuperable 16 points

Roberto Firmino's first-half goal handed Liverpool a 12th consecutive Premier League win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Liverpool's seemingly unstoppable march towards a first Premier League title continued as Roberto Firmino's goal sealed a 1-0 win over Tottenham on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp's side are now a whopping 16 points ahead of second-place Leicester City – who lost to Southampton earlier in the day – although their lead at the summit could be cut to 14 points if Manchester City overcome Aston Villa on Sunday.

The Reds were dominant in the first half and made the most of their superiority when Firmino expertly drilled home from inside the penalty area after 37 minutes.

Son Hueng-min and Giovani Lo Celso squandered golden opportunities to snatch a scarcely deserved point for Jose Mourinho's men late on, with Liverpool ultimately holding on for yet another three points.

He cuts inside cleverly before curling a low shot towards the bottom corner, but Tanganga blocks it well!

Lucas darts towards the edge of the box and opts to shoot rather than playing Son in, thumping an effort wide of the near post.

Son wins the ball high up the field and cuts across the edge of the box from left to right before curling a shot just wide of the far post! Spurs have started this one on the front foot.

A corner isn't dealt with by Spurs and Henderson dinks a delightful ball towards the back stick where three Liverpool players are unmarked!

Alli dallies in possession and loses the ball in the Spurs third, allowing Salah to break at goal. 

Sanchez slips over, gifting the Egyptian a shooting angle, but he fires just wide of the near post!

Aurier finds Lucas behind Henderson and the midfielder barges into the Brazilian, putting him off-balance as he slices a shot wide!

Alli drives into the box but is halted by a sliding challenge from Van Dijk. 

The ball breaks to Aurier, who hits a fierce, swerving drive, but Alisson does superbly to hold on to the shot!

Robertson clatters into Tanganga with his studs raised after taking a poor touch and the pair stay down. Liverpool play on, however, and Alexander-Arnold crosses into Mane, whose downward header is saved by Gazzaniga!

He dallies on the ball too long before eventually choosing Son on the left, and the forward has to snatch at his effort, sending it over the bar!

Aurier is given too much room by Robertson and curls a wicked ball to the back post that Lo Celso meets on the slide from just a few yards out, but he somehow steers wide of the far post!

Lamela hits an ambitious shot from outside the box but doesn't catch it with any real conviction and it's an easy take for Alisson.
