Jose Mourinho missed out on a win over his former employers as Bruno Fernandes equalised with a penalty against Spurs.
Match Reports
Bruno Fernandes converted a late penalty won by Paul Pogba to secure Manchester United a 1-1 draw away at top-four rivals Tottenham on Friday.
Steve Bergwijn's 26th-minute opener appeared set to give Jose Mourinho a much-needed victory over his former employers as Spurs aim to make a late charge to qualify for next season's Champions League.
However, United were rewarded for an improved second-half display with an equaliser, Pogba - on as a substitute as he returned after a long injury lay-off - producing a burst into the box that tempted a rash challenge from Eric Dier.

Match Events
13' Son's attempt from long shot too weak
Spurs have the first shot of the match as Son picks up the ball just outside the box. He keeps it low, but there's no power on it and it's a comfortable save for De Gea at his near post.
22' Lloris makes decent save to stop Rashford
Fernandes swings a cross into the box and Sanchez heads it away. It's a poor clearance that falls to Rashford on the left of the box and Lloris stops his first-time shot with his foot.
27' GOAL! Tottenham 1-0 Man Utd (Bergwijn)
United don't deal with Lloris' goal-kick and Aurier finds Bergwijn. He still has a lot to do though as he dribbles past two United defenders to get into the box and fires his shot at goal. De Gea gets a hand to it, but can't stop the ball from hitting the back of the net.
30' Again! Lloris makes brilliant save
Fernandes swings the free-kick into the box and Rashford is waiting in the middle. Sanchez reaches it ahead of him though and a deflection off the defender sends it towards the bottom-right corner, but Lloris gets down quickly to push it away.
31' De Gea stops Son with decent save
Bergwijn cuts inside and chips a great cross to Son on the left of the box. He's unmarked and heads his effort on target but De Gea is quickly off his line and tips the ball over the crossbar.
41' Yellow Card! Daniel James booked
James is dispossessed by Dier and he feels that he should've had a free-kick. He gets up and catches Dier with a late challenge and is shown the first yellow card of the game.
48' Fernandes powerful strike stopped by Lloris
United have made a bright start to the second half and are quickly moving the ball upfield. So far though, their passing in the final third has been letting them down and they're giving it away sloppily.
63' Subs! Pogba & Greenwood replaces James & Fred
Pogba is also brought on and he replaces Fred.
66' What a save from Lloris!
Shaw does really well to get away from Aurier and square the ball to Martial in the middle of the box. He sets himself before hitting his shot at goal and Lloris gets across to tip the swerving shot wide.
81' Penalty Goal! Tottenham 1-1 Man Utd (Bruno Fernandes)
It's clever footwork from Pogba on the right as he dribbles past Dier to get into the box. The defender is struggling to catch him and ends up bringing him to ground and the referee points to the spot straight away. Bruno Fernandes that steps up to take it and it's a confident spot-kick from the midfielder. He sends Lloris the wrong way and fires the ball into the bottom-left corner.
90' Manchester United's penalty cancelled after VAR check
VAR has had a look at the replays and Dier doesn't actually make contact with Bruno Fernandes before the midfielder falls to ground. The decision is overturned and Spurs have the ball.
