Raheem Sterling has poked fun at his former club Liverpool by joking that nobody wants to see them beat Manchester City to the Premier League title.
Jurgen Klopp's men are a point behind the reigning champions with three games remaining in arguably the most thrilling title race in history.
There has been plenty of debate about which team neutral fans would prefer to see lift the trophy - and now Sterling has weighed-in with his view.
Speaking at the BT Sport Industry Awards on Thursday night, the former Liverpool forward said: 'It is exciting, to be fair. Especially before the game yesterday [against Manchester United].
'Any little slip and you've got the Liverpool guys who could go on top of you.
'You don't want that. I don't want that. I don't think anybody wants that.'
Sterling joined Liverpool from QPR when he was a teenager and played in the Reds' first-team for three years, almost helping them to the title in 2014.
He made a controversial £49million move to City in 2015 and is now chasing his second Premier League trophy, having played a key role in last season's triumph.
Sterling added: 'So you try to do your best to make sure you win the game.
'But it is enjoyable. This is what I became a professional football player for – it's for these moments.
'Win or lose [the title], you're still going to look back on it and just be grateful for these unbelievable moments.'

It is a disgrace to see a team being trolled day and night just because they dream of glory. Shame on you Sterling, this is your boyhood club and where it all started. I hope Liverpool win the league, not just because I love them, but after all this troll, I will enjoy the sight of LFC haters being proved wrong.

Yeah, except like 50 million Liverpool fans throughout the world. Typical of a City player.

Even though I'm life long Liverpool supporter I can not deny the fact that MC play really well and they're consistent.Sadly my gut feeling telling me that we stumble at the finishing line and lose again by one point or on goals difference.Which will be heart breaking.Very few neutral supporters will go for MC,Liverpool is a team with great history whereas MC is built on truck loads of money.Same goes for Chelsea, they won many trophies but people tend to despise them simply because they've got so much money.Hope Liverpool will cope with the pressure and bring that elusive trophy home.
