French Ligue 1 outfit Strasbourg have signed the 19-year old Danish international Lucas Hogsberg in a five-year deal said be worth € 15 million.
The transfer of Lucas Hogsberg to RC Strasbourg makes him the most expensive center-back to be sold from the Danish Superliga, while he is also among the five largest sales in FC Nordsjaelland's history.
"Lucas is a fantastic example of what we can do at FC Nordsjaelland. He started with us as a three-year-old and is now an A-national team player, and his dream of a move to a big league has been fulfilled."
"He has been surrounded by talented and passionate people at FCN from day one, who have helped him along the way, but 'Høgs' himself has a large share of the credit because he has always worked hard and focused and shown his strong character with great support from his family. And last but not least, he has been a fantastic representative of our values", says FCN Football Director Alexander Riget.
"It has always been a childhood dream of mine to be able to move abroad, but it has still been a tough decision. Because FC Nordsjaelland is a club that holds an incredible amount of meaning for me, and it hits me in the heart that I now have to say goodbye."
"But I also have goals and ambitions for my career, and I hope that this move can carry me all the way, because I feel that I have found a club that suits my strengths - a club that focuses on young players and does so with a playing style that suits my core competencies", says Lucas Hogsberg.
Hogsberg played 32 matches for FC Nordsjaelland and made his international debut for Denmark in the Nations League quarter-final against Portugal earlier in the year.
