Bruno Fernandes ended his long wait for an Old Trafford goal in stunning fashion, netting Manchester United's second in their Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday evening.
Leading 1-0 through Fred's deflected effort just a few minutes into the second half, United doubled their lead in stunning fashion courtesy of Fernandes' second goal of the campaign. Just seconds after referee Simon Hooper had waved play on for an offside against Harry Kane at the other end, Fernandes bent home a sumptuous effort from just inside the penalty area.
Fred's attempted effort bounced off of Eric Dier and landed kindly at the feet of Fernandes, who opened his body up and bent home a lovely right-footed effort first time. It was nothing more than the Reds deserved, as they had been threatening a second since Fred's opener.
It brought the Portugal international's long wait for a home goal to an end, with his last coming in the 3-0 win over Brentford back in May. It was a fitting way for him to bring his barren run to an end and United's supporters, unsurprisingly, celebrated in style.
Below, MEN Sport has taken a close look at what some of United's supporters on social media had to say in response to the stand-in captain's second goal of the campaign.
Fernandes thought he had doubled his tally just over 10 minutes later, rounding Hugo Lloris and slotting the ball into the empty net. However, he was flagged offside, meaning it remained at 2-0.

Very bad of Ronaldo to walk at 89 min. Not augurs well for man like Ronaldo, but have to see Club & team is bigger than players. ETH is right, bcoz he is here to stay & revive United back to era where it dominated PL. If team is doing better then your best player, be it. Accept the fact & be prepare to fight each day.
Can't Agree More.., Bruz. No One Is Bigger Than The Club.

I Have All Respect For Ronaldo Before This.., Finding Reasons After Reasons To Back Him Up But This Match Was The Last Straw Of All. [Sadtolook] Leaving The Match Walking Off Into The Tunnel In The 8️⃣9️⃣ mins When The Team Was Still Fighting On The Pitch. Speechless.., Unforgiven.., NO ONE IS BIGGER THAN THE CLUB. TIME'S UP.., TIME TO GO FOR RONALDO.
Ronaldo is an actor who likes to create scene
