Daniel Sturridge has been charged with misconduct over a breach of FA betting rules.
Liverpool striker Sturridge has been charged over alleged breaches which took place during January 2018.
The England hitman left Liverpool on loan during that month, to join West Bromwich Albion.
The FA have confirmed that he has been hit in relation to Rule E8(1)(a)(ii) and Rule E8(1)(b).
Rule E8(1)(a)(ii) declares: "A participant shall not bet, either directly or indirectly, or instruct, permit, cause or enable any person to bet on – (i) the result, progress, conduct or any other aspect of, or occurrence in or in connection with, a football match or competition; or (ii) any other matter concerning or related to football anywhere in the world, including, for example and without limitation, the transfer of players, employment of managers, team selection or disciplinary matters."
Rule E8(1)(b) states: "Where a participant provides to any other person any information relating to football which the participant has obtained by virtue of his or her position within the game and which is not publicly available at that time, the participant shall be in breach of this Rule where any of that information is used by that other person for, or in relation to, betting."
Sturridge has had a torrid time with injuries over the last few years, failing to make more than 20 Premier League appearances in any of the last four seasons prior to the current campaign.
He played just nine times in the league last season for Liverpool before joining West Brom on loan in a bid to help the Baggies beat relegation.
But West Brom dropped to the Championship and Sturridge failed to score in any of his six outings.
He has featured nine times in all competitions so far this season for Liverpool, scoring four goals.

Classic myopia. Let’s count how many teams main jersey has a gambling institutions emblem on the front for the world to see. If you are serious about the gambling issue why doesn’t the FA ban all corporate sponsorship for these gambling houses. Typical head up the butt and look the other way by the empty suits in the ivory tower.

Why you betting when you make the same amount as a bet over like 2 or 3 months lol. I'd understand if he were a regular person but you're a pro footballer making mad money. Betting is just showing greed for more money which isn't necessary.....
