Chelsea striker Marc Guiu has opted to join Sunderland on loan.
The 19-year-old had attracted interest from a number of clubs, notably Ipswich Town, but Chelsea were keen for the teenager to gain Premier League experience.
Sunderland had also shown interest in Chelsea's Deivid Washington who has been on loan at Santos but the move for Guiu represents another coup in what is proving a busy summer for the Wearside club.
Guiu cost Chelsea £5million from Barcelona last year and scored six goals in 16 matches during his first season at Stamford Bridge.
The youngster is the latest edition to Sunderland's swelling squad, with Regis Le Bris embarking on a £113 spree of signings which has seen the likes of Granit Xhaka, Simon Adingra, and Enzo Le Fee arrive.
He had most of his joy in the league phase of the Europa Conference League, scoring all of his goals there including a hat-trick against Shamrock Rovers.
After that game, Joe Cole insisted he could be like Luis Suarez, telling TNT Sports: 'I likened him to Suarez and I got a lot of stick for it. I’m not saying he is Luis Suarez now, but what he’s got is that instinct and bravery.'
His progress was stunted by a hamstring injury which sidelined him between February and May, but he was back in time for the final against Real Betis, coming on as a late substitute.
He played a small part in their victorious Club World Cup campaign, featuring against Flamengo and Esperance de Tunis in the group stage, and received his medal from US President Donald Trump.
Chelsea could also loan out winger Tyrique George, 19, while Armando Broja is available for £25m.
Meanwhile, Nicolas Jackson is attracting interest from Newcastle United and Manchester United following the club's purchase of Joao Pedro, Liam Delap and Jamie Gittens this summer.
Chelsea are also in talks to add RB Leipzig attacking midfielder Xavi Simons to Enzo Maresca's squad following the arrival of his Dutch international teammate Jorrel Hato from Ajax.
Eighteen-year-old Jesse Derry has joined Chelsea after leaving Crystal Palace.

noted and I'm not going to arguing with you okay, United don't want him, in life you tend to move forward and not backward, why don't Chelsea look for somewhere and sell him to
give him to someone else, definitely knew United will never go near Jackson a Chelsea reject

The heading "£1113m" which literally translates to [£1.113 billion]✓exceeding the big spenders, but in the body £113✓. What kind of mistake is that???

See where he’s ending now? From Barcelona to Chelsea and now Sunderland? It shouldn’t have been like this, Guiu.
We know what he is capable of, he played so good when he starts or comes in as sub, Maresca loves him, but if he got the game time to develop in Premier league games u better know, he COMIN back next season as a beast, I have a feeling where he will do good and start scoring goals, with the way I see Sunderland spending with their squad, you have XHAKA TO mentor Dat team, plus they have Simon adingra there, he always do something, they even got HABIB DIARRA from Strasbourg, he can comment the midfield too, they just got Netherlands U-21 keeper, Roef, I can see with the front 3 might be ADINGRA, M. GUIU, CHEMSDINE TALBI, THAT'S A GOOD COMBINATION OF ATTACK TO DO SOMETHING IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE, EXCITING AND AMBITIOUS FORWARD LINE LESSSGOOOO

Sometimes you have to take one step back to move two forward after a long lay-off thru injury. Personally I think this is a good move for him and he will be hero worshipped the moment he starts scoring for them which he will revel in!!

Guiu would have been our next lewandoski if Flick train him. physically strong and technically better than Feran just his goal scoring. Chelsea bench him because they won't train a Spanish striker to destroy England.

lazy journalism, Manchester United were never and will never be in for Jackson, it's a big brand and club hence the reason players name gets linked to them for the good of the selling club and player as well
