Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham could be on his way out of the club with the 23-year-old not open to the idea of negotiating a new deal, according to reports.
The England international made his first-team breakthrough at the Blues last season under Frank Lampard and continued to play an important role for him before the former Chelsea midfielder was sacked.
However Abraham's game time has been limited following the arrival of Thomas Tuchel and he's not looking to get the ball rolling on a new contract at the club, according to The Athletic.
The report claims that Abraham is not interested in extending his deal beyond 2023 while Chelsea pursue Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.
Haaland's agent Mino Raiola revealed on Tuesday that only four Premier League clubs can sign the 20-year-old. Given the Blues' financial clout they are likely to be one of those top-flight sides.
Chelsea only recently splashed out £53million on a new No 9 in Timo Werner but the Germany international has struggled for form in his debut season in England. The 24-year-old has just two goals in his last 22 matches.
With Abraham not appearing to be in Tuchel's picture and Werner's woeful run in front of goal, veteran striker Olivier Giroud has moved back into the frame.
The 34-year-old has appeared to be on his way out of Chelsea for some time but he agreed a contract extension last May until the end of this season. When called upon the French striker seems to deliver and he could reportedly put pen to paper on a new deal.
Giroud netted a sensational overhead kick against Atletico Madrid in their 1-0 Champions League last-16 first leg victory on Tuesday night.
Tuchel, who took charge of Chelsea on January 26, praised the forward following his winning goal.
'If you see him on a daily basis, you can't be surprised. His body is in shape, his physicality is top level. He enjoys every day being a professional soccer player. He trains like a 24-year-old.
'He is the guy who has a good mix of being serious and enjoying training.
'He is always positive and a big factor for the group. When he starts or comes off the bench, he has all the qualities.'
Abraham has made just five appearances under Tuchel, completing the full 90 minutes just once, and was replaced at half-time in their 1-1 draw at Southampton last weekend.

Chelsea fc don't need to beg Tammy ,they should let him go if he wishes to no problem. Chelsea will do absolutely better without Tammy and it's not like he's gonna be Top striker by the way. He's never gonna be a Harry Kane even Firmino is far better than him so he can go. Chelsea fc let go of Diego Costa who won us two Premier league titles so who's Tammy? Besides We have Roman Abramovich so we got No worries. we have the owner who loves football the owner who is a football fan the owner who's planning to bring the best players in the world to Chelsea by whatever it takes. Erling Haaland is coming so there'll be no room for mediocrity. We want the best at Chelsea FC. If you observe Tammy against tough opponents you'll realize that he's never gonna be a world class striker. All he does is to spend more time on the ground trying too hard to claim penalties 🙄 what lazy boy

I respect Tammy for what hes done and feel appalled at how fans treat him. But if he wants to go then he can go. It's a cowards way out so if the news is true then he was never made for Chelsea cos Chelsea needw fighter types with the mentality to win their places. We arent free handouts FC. And this applies to our signings too. I dont care if Havertz ie generational or Ziyech who's my favourite player btw is a good passer, at the moment both are being outdone by a promising Mason Mount which just shows the mentality Mount has to be fighting against future world class and borderline world class midfielders for his spot. If the thought of Haaland coming in scares Tammy away from competition then he can go. In the end I feel like Mount is this squads best player mentality wise and the rest of the players need to follow suit even if they could be going up against world class or potentially world class players.

I hear and see many Chelsea fans now writing that their club should allow Tammy Abraham leave; that his leaving will be tantamount to "good riddance to bad rubbish." Really ?!! I wonder if the management and fans of Chelsea have dementia or just chose to be quickly forgetful of the fact that this lad carried the club on his young shoulders just last season and his goals proved instrumental to securing their qualification to this Champs League that they are now playing this season.
Just last season, he was their messiah - "...the boy is good!" However, due to his dip in form this season no thanks to his paucity of playing time and normal rollercoaster of life, they are now shouting "Crucify him!" What about the so-called stars Abramovich splashed over £200million to buy at the summer - have they delivered yet? Why does the club still have to be relying on a 34 years old Giroud to rescue them with the goals? I bet the fans and management of this great Chelsea FC understand that talented players like Werner, Havertz, Ziyech can consistently have poor form at times. For young Abraham on the other hand, different strokes should be used to determine his fate in the club, and the club's jurors' decision is that he is now not good enough for 'their' great club. Bunch of hypocrites I boldly say unapologetically! Should Abraham leave, I am confident that Chelsea will regret it in future as he will become even a more complete player. You all should remember how players like Lukaku, De Bruyne, Mohammed Salah and the likes were all adjudged not to be good enough by this same Chelsea and other top clubs, and how they are now regretting their myopic decision to let them go back then. Players will always have rough and tough times. Their clubs will do well to stand by them through thick and thin, and not just be fair weather friends like Chelsea often is.
With the points canvassed above and in my expert opinion, this club (Chelsea) AIN'T LOYAL...I rest my case!

Tammy thought he has arrived!! A striker we can't rely on when it comes to big matches, he's not yet a game changer he is tall but not good on air, I never seen him score a spectacular goal since he started wearing our blue color except tap ins from other people's work its not a lie it's the fact even giroud at 34 scores wow goals but Tammy never did and he thought he has arrived.. Maybe he wanted to play for West Ham like lord lingard or Southampton and start fighting for relegation after two years cos those are the clubs who can take him for now. If he wishes to leave fine Chelsea won't even ask why cos he hasn't done anything special yet.

You better start respecting Tammy he has more goals right now they any of our players currently. He’s also younger than both our strikers and has a larger ceiling for improvement. Sometimes he doesn’t deliver but that happens to every player, he’s still given us key goals that have helped us win games. Haaland is not coming he is a Dortmund player stop talking as if he’s already signed a contract.
