ERIK TEN HAG has become frustrated at the delay on a decision over his Manchester United future.

The manager endured a mixed second season in England as he led the club to its lowest-ever finish in the Premier League.

Ten Hag, 54, also oversaw the club finish bottom of their Champions League group and exit the League Cup to Newcastle.

He did earn some credit by masterminding the FA Cup victory over Manchester City, earning his second trophy at the club.

The Manchester United hierarchy have been undergoing a review of the season following the FA Cup final.

The result of which will see Ten Hag learn his fate and if he has a future at Old Trafford.

Those close to the former Ajax boss wonder why a review of the season post-Wembley was needed.

The manager said it had already been done, which was why he flew off on holiday immediately after lifting the trophy at Wembley.

Ten Hag was expected to be sacked after the FA Cup final but the surprise victory rocked Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his team.

It is believed that the final decision of the review is still likely to end in Ten Hag's dismissal from the club.

Three candidates have emerged as the top contenders to replace Ten Hag.

The list includes former Chelsea managers Mauricio Pochettino and Graham Potter.

While England boss Gareth Southgate is also an option following Euro 2024.

Potter has been out of work since being sacked by Chelsea last season while Pochettion left the club at the end of the campaign.

Ratcliffe is said to be a big fan of Southgate by would have to wait until after the Euros to see if the coach is an option.
