Piers Morgan has claimed that Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag will have to beg for forgiveness for letting Cristiano Ronaldo leave if Arsenal win the Premier League.
Ten Hag and United made the decision to part ways with Ronaldo in November after a controversial interview between the Portuguese star and Morgan was aired on TalkTV. In this conversation, the 37-year-old proceeded to criticise the Dutchman, the Glazers and the club in a scathing attack.
After weighing up their options, the Reds proceeded to come to terms on an arrangement which saw Ronaldo leave Old Trafford before the end of his contract which expired at the culmination of this season. The forward since went on to play at the World Cup as a free agent before signing for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
During a phone-in on talkSPORT, Morgan went on a blistering attack of United and made the bizarre claim regarding an apology he feels he will deserve. "Why don't you come back and ask me at 6.30pm on Sunday and see how cocky they're all feeling at United then?" the 57-year-old asked.
"I've been watching it all. They've been beating a few teams and they had a good result against [Manchester] City.
"Let's not get the bunting out just yet, I think we're (Arsenal) going to absolutely demolish them on Sunday and then, at that moment, I will remind them that they managed to lever out the greatest footballer in history because they thought that was a great idea." When pressed for further comments on Ronaldo, Morgan added: "When we win the league and when United do not win the league because they got rid of the GOAT, I expect Erik ten Hag to get on bended knee and beg me for forgiveness and apologise to Cristiano Ronaldo for the shocking disrespect that he showed him."
Since the World Cup break, United have beaten each team they have come up against. This included a 2-1 victory over City at the weekend.

LOL, as a ManU fan I have to be honest, if CR7 was present, we would NEVER have been on top 4. There was so much disharmony in the squad and now ManU plays like a team! I need the weed that piers smokes!

Even if United finishes 5th, 6th, 7th or 10th, I will still praise ETH for getting rid of Cristiano Ronaldo, the man kept our dressing room dirty since his arrival. VIVA ERIK TEN HAG, UNITED PARA SIEMPRE

You speak because Ronaldo is up your as***. Rooney used to be benched, he never refuse to play, he never furiously left the teammates while they are still playing, he never did explosive interviews telling the world that he have no respect for Mourinho because of being benched. That's why he left honorary because he know he doesn't posses the qualities needed to be a United player anymore. YOUR GOAT REFUSED TO ACCEPT THAT HE IS DONE, HE DID OPPOSITE OF EVERYTHING ROONEY DID. YOUR RONALDO IS THE MOST SELFISH-EGOCENTRIC PLAYER EVER SEEN AS A LEGEND AND ETH & UNITED MANAGEMENT HANDLED HIM AS HE DESERVED
