Barcelona's progression into the Champions League semi-final was rubber stamped by Lionel Messi's brace against Manchester United, although Marc-Andre ter Stegen has admitted that it hurt him to celebrate the Argentine's second goal due to the mistake David de Gea made.
Messi's shot from distance appeared to catch De Gea unaware, and the Spanish stopper allowed the ball to squirm under his body and into the net.
"It took me a while to celebrate that goal because of David de Gea's error - it hurt me," Ter Stegen explained at the launch of the 'Relatos Solidarios del Deporte' book.
"We're all human and this can happen to anyone.
"He plays in the same position as me, life goes on and I told him that it's nothing, just a human mistake; it could happen to me, too."
Liverpool are Barcelona's opponents in the semi-final, with Messi going up against Virgil van Dijk a mouth-watering prospect, and it's a tie the German goalkeeper is looking forward to.
"We're happy because it will be a beautiful match," he intimated.
"We have the chance to go through and achieve something very important for the club.
"First of all, we want to win the upcoming three league games.
"The Champions League is something very special and we want to achieve our goals."
Pep Guardiola's Manchester City were eliminated from the Champions League in sensational fashion after a classic encounter with Tottenham Hotspur at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night.
Yet, the former Borussia Monchengladbach goalkeeper has maintained that the Catalan hasn't failed, despite going through another season without a triumph in Europe's premier club competition.
"It's not a failure, certainly not - the Champions League is a competition of the highest quality," he confirmed.
"There is very little difference between the teams, especially in the Premier League where they are physically superior.
"The matches are defined by small details. This is why I'm happy to be in the semi-final."

This what's called repect. No goal keeper is above this kind of mistake. Not even De Gea or Stergen himself.
