John Terry believes Arsenal have an opportunity to dominate the Premier League for the next three years, but Mikel Arteta's squad still lacks a world-class striker.
Terry appeared on "Piers Morgan Uncensored," where the host asked about Arsenal's transfer priorities this summer.
Terry stated: "I think the team is still missing a top striker, the kind of player who can score 25, even 30 goals in a single season. Looking back at strong Premier League teams over the past two decades, Henry, Rooney, and Drogba all played such a role. Every championship team has a consistently high-scoring core striker."
When asked about his preferred transfer target, Terry replied: "Kane."
"But the problem is, I'm not sure if top stars are willing to join Arsenal. Objectively, Arsenal has the strength and opportunity to completely dominate the league in the next two to three years."
Furthermore, Terry also supported Chelsea appointing Xabi Alonso as manager and suggested the club sign experienced veterans this summer to support the Spanish coach.
"Honestly, this season has been the worst I've seen the team perform since I retired; the overall situation is not ideal."
"The club's hierarchy and sporting directors have always preferred to sign young, ambitious players, but I've always believed that a young squad needs experienced players to anchor it. The team still urgently needs this type of reinforcement."
"After this terrible season, Alonso's arrival is good news. Given the team's current situation, it's hard to find a more suitable candidate than him. He has excellent footballing ideas, and I've played against him for many years, so I know him well. I believe he will bring in a group of experienced players. If the club gives him full authority to sign players according to his vision, the team has a chance to get back on track."
"As for competing for the Premier League title? I don't think that's possible yet; the team still needs two to three years to mature. Of course, despite some previous failed signings, there have also been some quality additions."
