That's awkward! Cristiano Ronaldo gatecrashes Sky Sports Monday Night Football's pre-match chat

Cristiano Ronaldo gatecrashed the Sky Sports pundits pitchside before Manchester United's match with Liverpool - and elected to ignore Jamie Carragher.

Ronaldo, who was named among the substitutes for the important bottom half clash, came across to speak to former teammates Gary Neville and Roy Keane, both part of the Sky line-up for Monday Night Football.

The Portuguese star, who has reportedly said he wants to leave Old Trafford in the transfer window, came across to Neville as Keane said 'We need to see him out there doing his best.'

Keane then added: 'I'm glad you're listening to me.'

Sky host David Jones said 'The main man is here tonight', but was unable to get Cristiano to stop for a word on camera, as the 37-year-old went back to his warm-up, after a quick word with the Irishman.

Jones then said: 'Nice conversation with you, Jamie', to which Carragher responded: 'He totally blanked me!'

'Just like most people do,' Jones was quick to retort, leaving the panel in stitches.

Earlier, commenting on Erik ten Hag's decision to leave Ronaldo and Harry Maguire out of his starting 11, Carragher said: 'Those two will be really disappointed. Maybe Maguire just needs to come out of the firing line.

'If I'm being honest, I don't think ten Hag wants Ronaldo around the place. As soon as he's got options, he's put him on the bench. In two weeks time, I think he'll be gone.'

United continue to hunt down players who want to be part of their rebuild at Old Trafford, while Ronaldo seeks to play Champions League football elsewhere after a turbulent year back in Manchester.
