Despite splashing out huge sums over the last decade, Paris Saint-Germain have failed to celebrate Champions League success.
PSG were knocked out by Real Madrid from the Round of 16 last season and the owners decided to part ways with sporting director Leonardo and coach Mauricio Pochettino.
The latter was replaced by Christophe Galtier, who has made clear that there should be discipline both at the club and the team.
"You have to be disciplined on and off the pitch," Galtier said in his presentation.
As a result of this change of strategy, PSG hired Luis Campos as the new sporting director. According to L'Equipe, Campos has the full confidence of the club's owners.
Campos drew the lines on the first day he met with the players. He made it clear that rules were going to be set and that everyone was obliged to abide by them.
"If there are some who don't agree, they are free to leave," he added in case there was any doubt.
No nights out for PSG players
The new rules at PSG range from the whole squad having breakfasts and lunches together to no phone calls permitted, in Campos' bid to encourage group relations.
However, mobile phones will not be banned at training camps.
Perhaps the most controversial new measure is the ban on going out. Campos is said to have been informed of the night spots frequented by the Parisian players.
This measure has the approval of Galtier, who commented that "if there are players who step out of line, they will be dismissed. No player will be above the group."
So far, no PSG player has objected to these measures. In 2019, with the arrival of Leonardo, there was also a desire to set certain rules, but it did not change the dynamics.
