The Nicaraguan FA, Fenifut, have clarified the situation involving Juan Barrera and his vote for Lionel Messi in FIFA's The Best awards.
Barrera had claimed that he didn't vote in the awards despite FIFA's documents saying that he'd voted for Messi, the eventual winner.
Instead, it was vice-captain Manuel Rosas who voted for Messi and the Nicaraguan FA have blamed the mix-up as an "administrative error."
Rosas was chosen to vote in the awards by Henry Duarte, coach of the Nicaraguan national team, because he'd previously voted.
"Fenitfut would like to clarify that this whole situation was a misunderstanding," the Nicaraguan FA said in a statement.
Rosas voted for Messi first, then Sadio Mane and Cristiano Ronaldo in his top three for FIFA's Men's Player of the Year.

most people does not understand the meaning of individual award. Do your analysis base on individual achievement not club achievement. If you win champion league or all cups does not mean you are the best player in the world. when it comes to individual performance for 12 calandar month l think Messi deserve it.

But the problem is the name of the person they say has voted and he's not wrong when he says he didn't vote but he saw his name. This is not a mistake I think fifa threatened this fa to come up with this cover up but in reality this a corruption at its best
it seems like speculations only though. I do get the point that fifa is big boss and FIFA will give you shit this and that but if FIFA were to not know anything about this, they are in the right. I personally think that fifa is not in the wrong here, cause I believe that fifa is not that egotistical. and plus, why would Messi be their favorites? Messi just got banned from international matches for saying that Fifa is corrupted, so it doesn't make much sense if you were to tell me that fifa is taking Messi side in this shit.
