Today, we want to look at five craziest Mourinho celebrations of all-time.

5. Wagging Finger at Camp Nou- 2010

Inter Milan coached by Jose Mourinho pulled off a miracle in 2010 by eliminating a high flying Barcelona side in the semi-final of UEFA Champions League. Pep Guardiola side had humiliated Manchester United in 2009 final to lift the European crown.

The Italian side had defeated the Catalans 3-1 at San Siro in the first leg. The Spaniards were ready to turn it around at Camp Nou but Jose the master tactician had other ideas. He decided to ‘Park’ the bus in front of his goal for 90 minutes.

His side conceded only one goal to through to the final 3-2 winners. Mourinho sprinted to the field wagging a finger. Victor Valdes tried to stop him but the ‘Special One’ continued to run pointing to the sky. His side defeated Bayern Munich in the final to complete a historic treble.

4. Crest Pointing at Old Trafford- 2017

In 2016/17 season, Chelsea defeated Manchester United 4-0 at Old Trafford. Chelsea boss then Antonio Conte and Blues fans mocked Jose Mourinho. He reminded them that he helped win three League titles for them.

The story was different when the two sides met again at Old Trafford. The ‘Special One’ orchestrated a perfect plan to beat the London side and he managed a 2-0 win. When the referee blew the final whistle, he was seen walking to the pitch pointing towards the Red Devil crest on his jacket. It was a proud moment for all those supporters at Old Trafford.

3. Chest-thump at Anfield- Gerrard Slip Day-2014

In 2013/14 season, Liverpool was on course for their first ever League title since 1990. The Reds were seating pretty at the top of the table. Brendan Rogers side needed to beat Chelsea at Anfield to get closer to the crown.

The build-up was all about how Jose Mourinho side Chelsea will be hammered by a high flying home side. The likes of Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge were firing from all cylinders. However, the ‘Special One’ came with a perfect defensive plan to frustrate the League leaders.

The plan received a massive boost when Steven Gerrard slipped in injury time and Demba Ba made no mistake to make it 1-0. It became even worse for the home side two minutes later when Willian made it 2-0. Mourinho could not restrain his emotions anymore, he turned towards the home crowd, spread his arms and then thumped the Chelsea crest to show where he belongs. It was a classic Jose enjoying another sweet victory when nobody gave him a chance.

2. Ear-cupping at Juventus- 2018

Football fans around the World expected Juventus to easily beat Manchester United when the two sides met in Turin on Wednesday night. This is because the Italian giants had dominated first leg at Old Trafford to win 1-0.

However, by the time the referee blew the final whistle, Red Devils were the victors after coming from 1-0 down to win 2-1. Mata superb free-kick and Sandro own goal did the job. Jose Mourinho quickly jumped on to the pitch cupping his ear as if to say, say it again, who is laughing now.

Later he clarified the celebration gesture by claiming the home fans were abusing him in Italian for 94 minutes. Mourinho said: “I didn’t offend anyone at the end, I just made a gesture that I wanted to hear them louder.”

1.Touchline Sprint- Old Trafford 2004

2004 was certainly the underdog’s year. This is because, in the round of 16, Jose Mourinho side FC Porto eliminated giants Manchester United. The Portuguese side had won the first leg 2-1 at home after Roy Keane received a red card.

However, everybody expected fireworks at Old Trafford. This was not the case because, despite the fact that Paul Scholes opened the scoring, the visitors equalized via Costinha. There was no more goals and the Red Devils were out.

Mourinho could not believe what had just happened. He sprinted down the touchline to celebrate with his players. He went on to guide his team of unknown stars to European glory to record his name in history books. Captain Jorge Costa later said “Mourinho was going crazy. Everybody was going crazy.”
