Welcome to the biggest debate of this season. Has anyone ever dribbled past Van Dijk?
There are TWO opinions at this moment. The first one is that Van Dijk made 56 appearances in the Premier League, Champions League and Nations League combined in 2018-2019 season, no one did manage to dribble past him.
However, someone thinks it is not true as Man City's Sane did manage to use his silky skill to surpass Van Dijk while on international duty and he's the only player to do so, according to Opta.
In the 42nd minute Sane received the ball on the edge of the box, drove towards the byline. He showed the ball to Daley Blind and Ryan Babel before ghosting past both while somehow keeping the ball in play.
Van Dijk then closed him down and as he tried to make a tackle Sane flicked the ball past the centre-back who was taken out of play.

Cannavaro won the Ballon D'or, Virgil may win it, but we all know that the world hasn't known a defender like Ramos. He doesn't send his boys to do the tackle like Van Djirk, he does the rough and finishing work himself.

Its true van djik runs away from dribblers o... I can remember Barca vs Liverpool first leg.. Van djik was calling for help when messi was with the ball.. But people like vidic a very classic defender then.. He was always there for anything wasn't scared at all.. Thiago silva also.. So if u calling defender I don't classify van djik tho he is good o. He doesn't commit like Pique and Ramos did that's why i am not satisfied about his defensive ability i didn't see any sliding tackle from him which is well effective.Yeah sometime you could've been nutmeg by doing this but this is the main thing defender game see beautiful see De Ligt Pique and Ramos they are sliding tackle was just awesome to see like Maldini who is the master of slide tackle.After all i didn't like Van dijk because I'm not love his playing style it's my own opinion

Some people are so stupidly guided by their bias that they dont consider the facts. Van Dijk is the best defender in the world cos he uses his intelligence, something that every other option people state apart from Maldini lacked. Vidic had a great season, he also played alongside Ferdinand and not Matip and the team around him were so dominant that others were barely a match. Put Van Dijk in there people would call him the goat. Van Dijk deserves to be called the best defender in the world cos he uses his brain and with him there, theres no denying liverpool defence improved and they nearly won the double and won UCL.... too many people are salty cos either their club legends are discredited or their teams got beaten by Liverpool this season. The same people who insult him would rever him if he played for their clubs. Hypocrites...... even guys like Terry who lacked the pace used a similar approach sitting back and defending using his brain rather than run at the opponent to make a tackle. Think how risky it is and how much space that leaves if you leave your position to make a reckless tackle and its not successful, yall need to learn football again if you think VVD with his display this season doesnt sit in the top 5 defenders of all time list lol....

Van Dijk was the only defender not to have gotten dribbled yes that's true ...most times he was just passed van Dijk has a very good height which makes him superb inair and he's interceptions are always perfect and well timed..It's hard to say if he got dribbled because van Dijk is a player that reacts quickly no matter the condition
