Another pair of updates on the Cristiano Ronaldo to Manchester United transfer saga have been forthcoming on Friday evening.

The name of 5-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo has of course taken centre stage in the media chatter across Europe over the last 24 hours.
This comes with the Portuguese international having essentially demanded a departure from Serie A giants Juventus, on the back of three years in Turin.
Speaking during a press conference this afternoon, Bianconeri boss Max Allegri confirmed the news, explaining:
Initially, on the back of Allegri’s announcement, one club were viewed as the overwhelming favourites to strike a deal for Ronaldo.
The outfit in question? Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
Incredibly, however, just hours after it was widely reported that the 36-year-old was inching ever closer to an Etihad switch, the transfer, at the last, collapsed:
Reds return
And an explanation for precisely why has since been provided.
Incredibly, a rival suitor emerged for CR7’s services at the eleventh hour, in the form of none other than City’s neighbours, Manchester United.
And now, on Friday afternoon, a Ronaldo-Red Devils reunion appears imminent.
As per a report from transfer expert David Ornstein of The Athletic, those in a position of power at Old Trafford are ‘on the verge’ of striking a deal with their Juventus counterparts, to lure the club’s one-time prodigal son back to Manchester.
An initial fee of €15 million will be paid to Juventus, accompanied by €8 million’s worth of easily achievable bonuses.
Significantly, it is added that Ronaldo’s arrival will have no bearing on the future of Edinson Cavani:
Elsewhere, Italian transfer journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has provided a further insight into the situation, in the form of CR7’s predicted wage packet at Old Trafford.
It is claimed that the Portuguese, despite his age, is set to secure a two-year deal, worth a hefty £25 million net-per-season.

They should stop talking about cavani and loan out martial, then give cavani number 9 and Ronaldo should take number 7

if man utd could pay deadbeat Sanchez over 500k per week a few years ago for 5 goals and 61 shirts sold, I'm sure Ronaldo's 25m pay will be made back in shirts in 1 week. Rest my case not to mention the goals he will score

Manchester City unsettled Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus only for him to end up at Manchester United. Money can buy you titles but it can't buy you loyalty and class.
