The latest on E. Eze’s injury recovery & when Olise makes Crystal Palace debut

A nightmare start

Patrick Viera would take charge of his first competitive game as Crystal Palace boss last weekend.

The Eagles faced a pretty daunting trip to Chelsea, who have been one of the most dominant sides in the Premier League since Thomas Tuchel took over.

Unsurprisingly, Palace were unable to beat Chelsea on the day. But they were still unlikely to have been expecting to get so heavily beaten.

When the final whistle blew at Stamford Bridge goals from Marcos Alonso, Christian Pulisic and Trevoh Chalobah ensured Chelsea came away with a 3-0 win.

Palace, for their part, looked completely out of their depth and registered just one shot on target all day.

Eze & Olise updates

After said drubbing, Patrick Viera will no doubt be keen to see more of his new signings quickly integrated into the first eleven.

Palace have been fairly busy in the market this summer. But Marc Guehi was the only new signing in from the off against Chelsea.

Joachim Anderson came off the bench, Conor Gallagher could not play as he is on loan from Chelsea and Michael Olise is still out injured.

Now though, it has been revealed when Olise is likely to be making his Crystal Palace debut.

As per the Evening Standard, the winger is on course to make his debut after next month’s international break.

Olise has been suffering from a back injury but has now returned to light training and is targeting his debut next month.

Elsewhere, the ES provided an update on Eberechi Eze. The Englishman has been sidelined since picking up an injury in training back in May, with some reports suggesting he could be out till December.

However, Eze is now believed to be well ahead of schedule in his recovery.
