The most famous Swiss fan in the history of Swiss fans is coming back for the quarter-final!

The fanatic Switzerland supporter who has found himself at the heart of countless memes after his wild reactions were caught on camera during his nation's victory over France is set to be given the star treatment.

Luca Loutenbach perfectly demonstrated the wide range of emotions during a game of football, as he was spotted clutching his head in despair in one moment, before then roaring with passion just minutes later.

Switzerland's giant-killing of the World Cup holders saw them secure their spot in the quarter-finals at Euro 2020 and, thanks to several companies, Loutenbach is set to be in St Petersburg to cheer from the stands again.

France were leading 3-2 heading into stoppage-time during the all-time classic clash on Monday, and one of the cameras managed to pick out Loutenbach - who was wearing a bucket hat and clawing at his top - in the crowd.

However, Mario Gavranovic fired home in dramatic fashion for the underdogs, forcing extra-time and sparking Loutenbach to remove his jersey and let out a full-blooded scream towards the field.

Luckily for the watching millions at home, this was also shown on TV, and Loutenbach has now been offered a host of luxuries after unsurprisingly going viral on social media.

He has been offered a free Business Class round trip by Swiss Air to Russia, as well as tickets for the game.

Loutenbach will also be handed freebies by Red Bull, and a holiday courtesy of the Swiss Tourist Board. They have teased the prospect of a 'wellness weekend' in a post directed at the newfound hero's Twitter profile.

Bizarrely, there are also suggestions that the Federal Office of Public Health are keen to make Loutenbach the face of its coronavirus vaccination programme.

It has since been revealed he was left clueless over his instant rise to fame, though, and he admitted it wasn't until after the game when he realised his journey through the emotional ringer had been broadcast.

He told The Blizzard: 'I tried to take my shirt off during the goal but my glasses were blocking it a bit so I removed it a few seconds after and afterwards I was just so relieved by the goal and so emotional.

'My reaction was mainly because during the first half I started to really believe it was our day. And from that point, it felt like we were losing everything.

'I was just in such a state of disbelief, to once again, miss a big chance to write history. And then the comeback was so unexpected, it was just the best moment ever.'

He was tracked down by Swiss newspaper Blick, who managed to speak to him at the airport and find out more about his backstory. During their conversation, Loutenbach said he has watched the team 'about 50 times'.

'I try to never miss a game as much as possible,' he added. 'But it was logistically almost impossible to make the round trip to Baku-Rome-Baku.

'It's the most beautiful day in the history of Swiss football. Let's not be afraid of these words.'

Despite this, the moment, which is sure to live long in his memory, came at a price - with Loutenbach admitting there was little time for him to celebrate in style due to his 4am flight back home.
