The players are running big risks: They're breaking lots of clichés

With more doubts than certainties, football is starting its post-lockdown phase. We don't know a lot about coronavirus, like the effects it could have on the body that could be decisive for the evolution of the pandemic both in society as a whole and in the football community: intellectual humility.

The return to normal competition will have its phases; it's not going to be easy. In reality, training is only just getting started now. We've had to be very conscious of how long the virus, and only the virus, will mark the agenda: respecting the enemy.

Preserving the health of LaLiga's players is going to require great sacrifices that will coincide with periods of long confinement. We haven't forgotten the players who already have mental and physical stress on their shoulders, which just adds to the uncertainty about their future, individually and collectively. This face will make matters more difficult for them: ability to make sacrifices.

There will be new infections within football in Spain, just like in other countries. We must grit our teeth and follow the previously establish protocols without hesitation: mental strength.

Respect to the enemy, humility, sacrifice and mental strength make up the pillars that the spirit of sport is based on. In front of these doubts, a certainty: players want to return to normal competition. They're working to contribute to the country, maintaining high guard, bringing back the normality that we so badly need. They're prepared to run major risks for it too. They're breaking lots of clichés.
